The Traveller has since dominated our news and cyberspace with his alleged solidarity trek from Lagos to Abuja which is his own way of celebrating the emergence of General Muhammadu Buhari as the President-Elect of our dear country Nigeria.
I have seen a whole lot of reactions towards this supposed victory trek. A whole lot of us have turned to crash Mathematicians and geography experts, calculating the distance, time and reality of the escapade of the so called “Traveller”.
A whole lot of people have created jokes out of the dude’s adventure (typical Nija style), some say its all lies, to some it is a mission impossible while there is this minute few who actually believe the guy actually went through that herculean and to some extent irrational and ridiculous journey.
Funny enough I belong to that minute few who believe in the travellers sojourn.
The facts and statistics available makes the journey a near impossible one, its indeed a difficult story to believe! Trek from Lagos to Ibadan (5am-6pm) is not only unbelievable but its indeed laughable, but friends, one thing I will not take away from this Traveller is the credit of setting out on a course which drew all the nation’s attention to him.
He made a promise to go on that trek once the General wins and he kept his word, how many of us can actually do this? We saw pictures, villages he visited, places he was received. This is a man who defiled all odds to set out on his journey!
On getting to Abuja he was met with a mammoth crowd, He entered Abuja as a winner, a champion! This is it! He was able to strike a chord in our consciousness as a nation and personally. A single man, a practical nobody caused a positive stir in our news, cyber and even political space! WOW! I love this man.
I will round up by sharing what I said in a whatsapp group chat “ Even if he trekked truly or he flew a plane de ni… The basis of the story is that the man is now popular… more popular (if care is not taken) than most of us will ever be…”
Against the odds, I believe the Traveller actually went through that journey from LAGOS to ABUJA… He will live on with that honour forever and he will never be forgotten (not in this year of google), you can stay there and continue combining your wack geography and mathematics skills.

PS.: I read he was lodged in The Transcorp Hilton Hotel upon his arrival in Abuja!
Pray you achieve that feat too!
